Unfortunately, UMD emailed me on Monday and told me they had to cancel the contract with the room because they felt Video Game tournaments are considered ‘gambling’.

You asked for it, and we are answering the call.

Guilty Gear is a fantastic game, and VTYME is proud to have it in it’s line up again this year. Thank you to all the fans who posted and left comments demanding this game.

We asked you on VFDC, and you told us. The Xbox 360’s version C was not enough to make you want to use it… just yet at least. The majority of players wish to play Virtua Fighter 5 on the PlayStation 3 at VTYME 2007. As Jim ‘Yupa’ Ross from Rhode Island stated, “I also vote for PS3 version. I won’t have a stick ready for 360 either, and it will still be too new IMO. I think we should start switching over to 360 version for tournaments around the beginning of 2008″. Great post Yupa, we agree too!

With all the happenings with VTYME, I wanted to make the tournament strickly a 3D fighting game event, but something about Guilty Gear: Accent Core is screaming at me. I ran the Guilty Gear Slash at VTYME 4 last year, and the turnout was pretty good. 32 players from all over came, including Combofiend from California and Marn from Texas. However the winner of the tournament, Final Showdown, flew from Michigan to take the crown.
So we ask this, should we run GG:AC this year? Let us know!

VTYME is back and now has a blog. Check back soon for updates regarding venue, dates, prize money, game titles and more!
In the meantime, here is a picture of the infamous VTYME2 back in 2005. In the picture you can see Bronson ‘insanelee’ Tran playing versus myself in the losers finals. I have my trusty coach and long time friend, Bill Menoutis at my side, with Ricky Ortiz, Josh ‘Arario’ Park, and Jinkid rooting on Bronson.
